About Me

My Photo
Brooke Ragsdale
Sweet Graphix Design & Photography is definitely NOT your average retail design and photography company.  My name is Brooke Ragsdale and I will work with throughout the process, starting with getting to know you so I can pick up on your personality traits all the way to your intentions for your finished designs and/or photographs.  I want you to walk away from this experience feeling like you will “do” something artistic or creative with the photographs instead of tossing them into an envelope and storing them in “that” box in your attic.

I am probably one of the most laid back and comical people you will ever meet.  I am known for taking awkward situations and turning them into something so funny it’s a top 10 honorable mention.  When working with me I want you to feel relaxed and walking away feeling like you had a blast. I’m a spectator for the most part.  I like to hang out on the “out-skirts” and watch my subjects interact, especially when photographing children.  I get so tickled when watching children interact with each other and when they discover something new.  Being able to capture the expression on their tiny little faces is a great way to document a monumental milestone and deserves to sit on the mantel.

Often with large groups of people like families, I have to get involved a bit more and suggest certain poses but I still like to stay in the background to photograph who you really are.  I want you to be able to look back through your photographs and see yourself and feel your personality jump off the page.

By now you should have a decent understanding of how I work and if you decide that my style isn’t what you are after, then I would be more than happy to refer you to a few other local companies that offer a different experience.  My mission for my photography business is not about creating art for myself but for you, my client.  I want to create things that YOU will appreciate and want hanging in your home for many, many years.  I’m all about dirty faces, bare feet splashing in puddles, crocs, scuffed knees.  These are real life things and moments and those are what I love to capture for you.  That being said, I love taking my photos a bit further and performing artistic edits on them.  For examples of that, please look through the retouching photo folder.

I want to be remembered for "Creating your life in Art."

Please contact me today about booking your session and capturing this time in your family’s life together at photog@sweetgraphixphotography.com.

What a treat! My girl’s were invited to this fabulous spa birthday party at A Better You Day Spa (https://www.facebook.com/abetteryoudayspa) and I photographed the event for my dear friend. Here are a few of the photo’s from the party. All of the girl’s got their hair and make-up done and afterwards enjoyed a beautiful candy bar and birthday cake..

March of Dimes Walk

Most of you that know me know that our first born, Jocelyn was premature. When she was born she was almost 3 months early and weighed only 3 pounds 7 ounces. She was so tiny. I remember when Robert took me to the NICU for the first time he picked her up and she fit in the palm of his hand.

Once I was ready to be released I was told that Jocelyn would have to stay in the NICU. Then they told me that they couldn’t give me a time frame because it all depended on how she progressed. I cannot explain the feeling of Robert and I leaving the hospital without Jocelyn. For the next week I went down there every three to four hours to feed her and spend as much time with her as I could. I wasn’t sleeping and going crazy not having my brand new baby girl. Jocelyn ended up having to stay in the NICU for 11 days. Once we signed the papers and got her out of there I instantly felt as if I could breathe…it was really strange. Poor Robert was getting the brunt end of my nervousness with ever bump on the road going home.

I know that the staff at the Erlanger NICU treated my baby with the absolute best care possible. I do not think they get the accreditation that each one of them deserves.
Today, Jocelyn is in Kindergarten and thriving as any 6 year old should. She can read and is learning to add and subtract. She loves music, dancing, and photography (like her Momma). Almost 18 months after Jocelyn was born we had another baby girl, Naomi. She was delivered at full term and as healthy as could be. Naomi is now 4 and looking forward to starting school in the fall.

So, you can see how near and dear to my heart that the March of Dimes is to me and my family. Please join in on the fun and be a part of something that can help the children of today and tomorrow. My family has started a team and we will all be walking on May 6, 2012. The walk with start at Camp Jordan Arena, right off of I75 South. Registration time is 1:00 PM and the walk starts at 3:00 PM. I have started the donation process and would love for you all to donate whatever you can…even if it’s a dollar. I have set a family goal of $500 which we have 95 days to meet. So please dig in those oversized bags and make a donation to support the March of Dimes and all of the families that have experienced premature birth within their own families. Feel free to email me at sweetgraphix@live.com or you can inbox me of my Facebook page or call 423.771.6380.
For more information and to make a donation please go to: http://www.marchforbabies.org/team/t1771012
I look forward to walking with you all soon.
Take Care,
